The Mikron Team

Mikron has a lovely little office team working away in the background. Now you can put a face to a name and find out a bit more about us.

Marianne McNamara – Artistic Director

Marianne joined the company as an actor-musician in 2003.

Since then she has worked for the company as an actor, administrator, director, youth worker. She’s been Artistic Director since 2009.
Marianne is responsible for show choices, commissioning writers, directors, designers and actors and monitoring and assessing the quality of our productions. She is currently studying for her BSL level 3 certificate and is a qualified Royal Yacht Association Inland Waterways Helmsman. Marianne gained a Mental Health First Aid champion qualification in September 2024.

 

Pete Toon – Producer

Pete has been with Mikron since 2002 as an Actor-Musician, Office Manager and General Manager.

In 2010 he became Mikron’s Producer with overall non-artistic responsibility for the day-to-day running of the company. Pete has a BSL level 1 certification and is a qualified Royal Yacht Association Inland Waterways Helmsman. Pete gained a Mental health first aid champion qualification in September 2024.

 

Rachel Root – General Manager

Rachel has worked with Mikron since 2006 as Development Officer, and after starting her family, re-joined us as administrator in 2012.

Rachel has also worked as a performer, director and administrator for various commercial theatre companies.

She brings these skills to the office alongside her ability to keep us organised and the office shipshape! Rachel gained a Mental Health First Aid champion qualification in September 2024.

 

Jo English – Freelance Administrator

Jo joined the Mikron team in spring 2014.

She splits her time between casting and admin. Jo has been an actor since leaving college. Her main role at Mikron is to keep Marianne and Pete in line. She has a love of stationery and is VERY tidy! Jo gained an FAQ Level 3 Mental Health Workplace First Aider qualification in September 2024.

 

All office staff and cast members are first aid trained.
